My Room

"Everyone carries a room about inside them. This fact can even be proved by means of the sense of hearing. If someone walks fast and one pricks up one's ears and listens, say at night, when everything round about is quiet, one hears, for instance, the rattling of a mirror not quite firmly fastened to the wall." -Franz Kafka

Map

Here is a map of Oxford so you can see the city and follow us around when we describe where we've been. It's in PDF format, so you'll need the Adobe Reader.

We live on Juxon Street, which is in the northwest corner of the map. The OSAP office is on George Street, which is on the west side of the main city. George Street turns into Broad Street (roads in Oxford don't survive intersections), where Trinity College and Blackwell's Bookshop are located. Broad Street turns into Holywell Street, where New College is.

Turning south off of George Street brings you to Cornmarket Street, which turns into St. Aldates, where Christ Church is located. We went there for Evensong last night. They had a boys choir that was beautiful. If you turn east at the end of Cornmarket before it becomes St. Aldates, you will be on High Street where the Hoyle's Shop and many other shops are situated.

The map also shows several other shops and museums in Oxford.

If you couldn't tell, my directional skills are vastly improving.

I'm very impressed with the map thats not a RISK board. Do you march a little man around it to help you figure out your path? I used to use a little car from LIFE when I was learning how to use maps... would you like me to send you an army guy or a MOD? jk.. happy mapping
